I contracted the car for £89. I waited for 25 minutes in line to listen to a eruopcar employee talk about the weather to another customer. I was then informed that I was late (after 4pm) and would be charged an extra £60. I was then informed that I needed insurance as the quote I received did not include it. So an extra £40 was added. I ended up paying an extra £100 in total. I will;l never again use Europcar after being a loyal customer for 30 years.

Super easy pick up and drop off. Very friendly staff. Difficult to find the office and if someone is dropping you off be aware that the Regus carpark is not free and has cameras as you go in.

The pickup experience was poor. The location is further from the airport than the other car hire locations. It took a long time to be attended to - insufficient number of staff and the staff were managing both drop-offs (detailed inspection required) and pickups. The office was in a run-down prefab building with a dirty couch. There was far too much paperwork required for the check-out process and none of the information that I had submitted in advance (at their request) was in their system. The cars are parked in a potholed, puddled gravel lot. Overall a disappointing first experience of England.

I did not rent the car after paying for the rental. When I got to the place to pick up the car I had already paid for, they wanted a £1400 deposit in case of damage to the car. I refused to rent and have now lost my $424. payment for the rental and had to rent with Europcar where they are legal and actually charge what they say they will charge.
